A revolutionary concept that helps more people than you can imagine.
People in need in Dubai will now be able to access freshly made bread for free via smart vending machines that have been placed around Dubai. This concept is a part of an initiative called‘bread for all’
The ‘bread for all’ initiative was spearheaded by the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC), under the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF), to help underprivileged families and workers by providing them free bread at various times of the day. At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashidal Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, revealed his desire that “In the UAE, no one sleeps hungry or in need”.
Placed at the entrance of several Aswaaq grocery outlets, the machines, refilled twice a day to ensure constant supplies, give people the option to choose between Arabic bread and finger rolls. Once selected ‘Click to Order,’ the machine begins preparing and then dispenses hot bread in around a minute.
10 locations that have been set up so far, with plans to increase placement within the next six months.
